I am searching high and low for a moulding to match an exisiting frame for a client. I actaully had the insight to TAKE A PHOTO, but promptly lost it so i have no photo now.. Sorry..
The clients frame looks like a readi-made type deal, but I know I have seen this moulding before in shops.
I don't know who makes it, BUT, LArson Juhl makes one that is VERY similar. I'm thinking it is a knock off on theirs, but unsure.. L.J.'s is in their "Nantucket" series, it's in their catelog.
The one I want is about 1-3/4" wide, totally flat, but in the rustic/country style so it's not refined. It is about 1/2-5/8" tall, so it's pretty shallow. It comes in furniture finishes, as well as I think green and a blue? It has faux "saw-marks" that are short and go the width of the moudling, not along the length... so it winds up looking subtley striped, kind of.
I need the mahogany, but mostly I just need to fingure out what this is! I have asked a lot of my reps, vendors.. no one knows..
HELP, framing geniuses!
thanks

From your description, it sort of (kinda, almost) sounds like the Syracuse Sales 5700 series.

They are a turn of the century reproduction of a Pennsylvania folk art frame. The ones that I’m thinking of come with an optional corner block.

If your search don't work out, ask if they want to reframe the other one with something that matches. You never know...

Thanks for the idea on Syracuse Sales.. Their site doesn't seem to have pictures.. do you know where I could check out what it looks like, or shuld I contact them?

Good suggestion, John.. they seemed to be against it, though, b/c they have 2 in the original frames. Also, because it looked so familiar, I told them it would be no problem to find it. Talk about shooting myself in the foot!
I will try to contact the client and see if she can take another photo and I'll post that on here...
Thanks guys!
