This topic has been covered in the past - but the threads I found were from 2001.. and since the internet is ever-changing... I thought I'd post to get some new examples and ideas for the direction I should be thinking about for a new updated website for my business...

Any suggestions for content, interactivity, links, selling product, promoting product, etc. would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Roz

I have tinkered with website design and I too am redoing mine. I would answer your question by asking what do you want it to do. That is the same question I ask friends who ask, "What computer should I buy." A computer used for surfing the Internet is drastically different that one that is used for gaming or digital graphics.

Is your site going to be a digital business card? Are you going to sell/show items from it? Do you want to use it to explain framing techniques? I would start by envisioning a specific purpose for the site. That will make building it easier. The end result will be more focused and less scattered feeling.

Roz, where ya been? There are 3 pages worth of website design info down on the business forum. The last post was 7/17, so it should still be showing in your "last 10 days" que.

In fact, Jay, I think you started it. Why didn't you point her to it?

Like most of our threads, it wanders away from the topic, but it does come back again.

I haven't ventured into that area yet. To all of you, Do you really reap any reward from your web design. And if you do, would'nt you consider each other competition. Just wondering

Jennifer! Ya gotta go to the business forum. It's to die, er grow for!

Just read what we've all said about our web sites. It'll save us from saying it all again!

Betty... Thanks! I guess I only searched the grumble area. Oops!

Found lots of good stuff and roamed thru some of the grumblers own sites - which offer a variety of approaches to be inspired or not, by!!

I have some homework to do!!

Thanks,

Roz

I've only recently designed and posted our site but I have found the perfect resource for any website questions. Whether it be design questions, tech questions or online marketing check out..

www.webproworld.com

I've posted my site for review and asked about online marketing do's and don'ts and many other questions. I have been overwhelmed with the responses and suggestions and surprised by things that have come highly recommended by local pro's only to find out others have also learned hard lessons which turn out to be useless money pits. Such as goggle adwords, for one. This site can be a little overwhelming at first but dig a little into it...you'll be happy you did.

Good Luck.
