I've been printing for artists and photographers for a while, but my website blows and has no functionality. I work with my customers directly so I function without a decent website, but still need one.
I've done lots of web development, but am finding I'm never getting (or making) the time to work on it.
I ran across zetaprints, which I initially liked because they only charge $1.70 per order -- no setup or monthly fee. However, it turns out their service doesn't meet my needs. I asked them a lot of the questions below, and got a short answer of: "Doesn't look like we are a good fit. Try someone else." WOW!
Are there similar software packages / services that exist, where the charges are per order and reasonable -- rather than having a giant up front cost, or a fee like $90/month which is a lot until you start getting enough online orders to justify it?
Here's what I'm looking for:
* The software is focused (or can be modified to only include) wide format printing -- fine art reproduction, photos on photo paper and canvas. Don't create brochures, business cards, greeting cards, etc.
* Each customer has an account. User can upload images to their account, which are stored for future ordering and/or reordering.
* I want a customer to be able to see pricing based on choices of the size, material (paper/canvas) used, if canvas whether it's stretched and if so what depth of bars, color adjustment charges, and others. I want a customer to be able to see this pricing information generically (no user account, no image uploaded) or for a particular image that they've uploaded.
* I also want custom sizes available. I want to allow customers to choose weird sizes like 13"x47" without me having to manually add them to the system as an official product.
* I'd like users to be able to see for an image that they've uploaded what sizes would work with the ratio the image is in. If the software can't handle letting them crop to different sizes, that's fine by me. I realize image editing can be a lot to add to a store package.
I'd also like for (but don't need):
* Me to be able to set an upload file size limit. I don't want the software having some really low limit that can't be changed like 5MB.
* The software to automatically create thumbnails of the uploaded images, so users can easily see them.
* I'd prefer to host the site myself, but I can let this go
Looking for something that allows customers to upload images, keep them in their account for future usage, place orders for printing those images on paper/canvas, choose stretcher bar depth, choose color correction options, etc.
