Hi all ... just in the process of starting up a home based framing business. Starting very small but was wondering if attending some of the education classes and the trade show in Vegas would be beneficial for someone just starting out ?? Any thoughts or input as to what to foacus on would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

I can't think of a better way to start educating yourself about the business of framing.

I wish I would have done it earlier in my career and I wish I were going this year.

Talk to lots of folks while you are there. This show attracts the best and smartest framers not just from this country, but from around the world.

Join PPFA while you are there- you may get a discount on books that you will want for your library anyway and you will be added to the Hitchhiker's email list (worth the price of membership right there...)

The very best deal going is the VIP education pass. For $420.00, you can attend as many workshops/seminars as you can. Do it. This will pay for itself many times over.

GO! The educational classes are superb and I agree w/ The Goddess - go for the VIP pass. I did that and would do it again in a heartbeat.

Don't forget to carve out time to visit the vendor exhibits. It can be a challenge to do when you're in classes all day.

Have fun. I'll be there next year.

Ditto. Make sure you stop by Frank's Fabric for Framers booth. We will be running free how to wrap your own mats and liners, hands on, everyday all day. Come get your hands on some fabric.

But only fit us in between the cla$$e$. LOL
