I thought I's start a thread for things to do/going on at WCAF in the before and after hours.

A friend sent me this link TravelZoo and they have a Vegas section. Didn't poke around much, but LOVE tickets are $99 each! I think that is a good deal. Want to pick a Grumble night? Shows are at 7pm and 9pm.

We also need to work on our "breakfast club"!!

Breakfast at Harrah's?

Mary,
If I recall correctly, it was you who suggested Harrah's. If you care to start a breakfast club at Harrah's, my husband and I will be happy to join you, as we are staying there as well. Although I haven't checked into the restaurant situation at there, I'm assuming they have some kind of diner or buffet.

I could also be swayed to cross the street and eat at the Mirage if it turns out that's where most people are staying.....

Becky - Saturday, Sunday, or Monday? 7:00 or 9:30? Couldn't do 7 on Monday (lJ's Black is Cool, White is Hot).

SusieQ - I am open to either hotel. I think buffet is best so people can come and go, plus it's pretty much the same price to eat at the cafes. About $15 each (ouch!) at either hotel. What ever is best for the group.

I am at the Mirage and have 2 buffets with my hotel. I would suggest the Mirage because that is where the classes are at and would allow for as much sleeping in as possible. I would also think that most people will be staying at the Mirage.

I am in for going to Love.

Mirage for Breakfast then! Us Harrahs'ers would be headed over that way anyway.

Any preference for LOVE night/time?

LOVE is dark on Tuesday and Wednesday. We are going to the late show on Monday night :-)

There ya go Mary. I say we crash Kirstie's party. I have never been to a Vegas show, are seats assigned or general admission? Does a group have to be purchased together if you want to sit together?

Seats are assigned - you will need to book seats together to sit together. I think the best seats are not down low but up around row 'M". If you are down low you won't get the full perspective. As it is, the show zooms by and there is just SO much to look at. The music quality is outstanding! I LOVE this show.....but my favorite is still "O".

Darn, I didn't think about having to book together to sit together. Well ... I'm good with Monday late (don't tell AJ it's late, lol). Do we want to book as a group or just wing it, maybe meet for dinner first? I think it was "E" that was the $99. I've been to a few of these type shows and I don't think there's a "bad" seat, but some are better.

ROB!! I would so do that!! I've wanted to strap machine guns to my thighs since the first Tomb Rider ... (TMI?) :icon19:

Good advice. Loved Love, but got tickets in the third row. Thought great, but it's like sitting with your nose pressed against the TV screen, there's just no field of view. I think this might be true for most Cirque shows. There's so much going on that it better to sit in the last row than up close.

We sat down front a couple of years ago, which was neat for observing some of the technical aspects of how the show is staged, but this year I think we'll go for the perspective view.
 Rick

P.S. One Vegas extracurricular activity that is no longer available is the Liberace Museum. Since Terry is a piano teacher and performer, we just had to go check it out last time. Whether or not you were a Liberace admirer, it was surprisingly interesting. Alas, it has closed.

Becky, I was thinking the same thing. Since there are two of us, I'd be happy to do the purchasing. Anyone can Paypal me the money. I'm chatting with Mark to see if he's going to join us!

I just check and this is what I came up with if I tried to book 8 tickets (max):

Section 208 Row S Seat(S) 1 Through 8 - $107.95 each.

Seating Map

I want to see the show, but even more, I want to spend some time with my friends making memories. The seat location for doing that is almost meaningless.

I agree Dave!! I can't wait to see all my friends. I miss you guys so much.

That's fine Ellen! Let me check with Becky and make sure she's okay with me being the banker. I was just thinking since there are two of us we'd be the expensive ones, lol.

Mary- here's something you and Kirstie might like: http://machinegunsvegas.com/

Very funny. Our sets on Monday night are in row K somewhere. This is the front of the second section, I think. Hopefuly not too close. I have seen Cirque from the very back and they are also great seats. O is also my favorite.

Back to slamming down lunch between Xmas DIY folks.

We normally stop by the Peter Lik galleries and will stop by Rodney Lough's this year. Other than that, we do a whole lot of walking around the strip. I don't gamble, I only play poker. I never have enough time to play because unless I have 4 hours guaranteed free to play, I wont play (business comes first).

Gotta, Randy and Mrs. Randy! Let me get it booked then I will PM you my email for PayPal. What can't you eat? It will be fun, lol.

Anyone want the last spot?

Well, to start with, no more deep fried pig intestines. But I'm sure I'll find something "exotic" to order.

LOVE

We have tickets!!

Section 208 row S seat(s) 1 through 7

Monday night at 9:30pm.

I will send my fellow "lovers" a PM.

Thought I would toss in my show schedule here, if anyone would be interested in tagging along for company. I've already booked my seats, so we wouldn't be sitting together, but group outings can still be fun. ;)

- the Chris Angel show "Believe" at 7pm on Saturday, Jan 28th
- the Cirque du Soleil show "KA" at 9:30pm on Wednesday, Feb 1st

I'm also taking a helicopter tour to the floor of the Grand Canyon, coming back in a H2 Hummer across the desert and the Hoover Dam, on the morning of Jan 27th. If you are getting to Vegas early enough and wanted to go on this same tour with me, that should be possible.

Sounds like fun! We went to Ka last year, you will love it. That tour sounds awesome, wish we could join you. Not sure what we are doing Saturday night, I will let you know if Believe will fit in.
