Where can I get a list/schedule of classes at the WCAF show?
I got a brochure on the show, but it was generic, without any specifics on this year's classes- just the trade show dates, conference, breakfast etc.
Their website wasn't much help either. I left a message on the 800- phone number but no one has called me back.
 Rick

I had an e-mail from them that the schedule would be "available online in November". I've been checking about every hour now, since yesterday started November. I also e-mailed them again today, asking for more specific info on where to look online, other (if applicable) than the site below.

Here's where I've been looking:

It's hard to see without the cheater glasses on... but there is a line near the bottom, that's been there for some time now...

"To be notified when the class schedule goes online, click here."

Hope this helps Rick. Otherwise, take two valium, a few shots of Chillout and check back around Nov 15th, like last year.

They're still trying to make all the education work with the show and versa visa. . . or was that versa master card?

Yeah, i did click that and request email notification. I just thought maybe there were some full-info brochures floating around out there that hadn't found their way down here yet.
 Rick

What makes it onto the web, is most likely the paste up for the hard copy that will most likely go out with the Dec issue. Like last year.

Even us instructors are totally sure when our classes will be.

Not sure how it works now but I think in the past those who have registered get notices first.

I am waiting until I see the classes to register - it costs me thousands to go - I wanna be sure I can take all the classes I need!

I talked to Wendy, I think her name was on Wednesday. She was feverishly working on it as we spoke and said it would be up by end of this week. Haven't checked yet today...should be soon though.

Where will it be posted? On the WCAF site that Baer and I highlighted earlier? Or somewhere else?

Because this is my first show to attend, I don't have a clue what to expect, so, as they suggested, I downloaded the several pages of last year's brochure and put them into a binder. Then I did as if it were this year's and worked out a schedule of classes that I want to take... a trial run, so to speak. Apparently, many of the same classes are available from show to show, with new ones here and there, and/or some dropped.

I feel like a vulture, waiting for this schedule to come out! But I don't want to miss anything!

Someone suggested going to the trade show at some time during the first day and signing up for the give-aways by the vendors, then concentrate on the classes. Sounds like a good idea, too..

I heard today that the WCAF class schedule may be up as early as tomorrow.

Brace yourself, Val. It's almost time.

I'M SOOOO EXCITED!!!

Get ready, get set...........(ohmygawd, I'm drooling!)..:icon21::icon21:

Im wondering what the costs for the show usually are... it doesnt seem to be on the site. I just came bacl from the photo plus trade show in NYC and would like to propose going to this framing show to my boss, but want to have all the costs in line before i present it... hotel i can figure out, but seminars and the show itself?

I too have been making a hit list for the class's I want to attend. I need to plan this out carefully so I can do as many as possible in oh so short amount of time. The trade show also. January will be here soon as we know it.
I change of pace as well as a chance to recharge the batteries will be good.
I think it will also be neat to put faces with the names I meet here...

yea I here you ..I called again today and they said this week, that the class schedule will be out. I'm registered for the show but am waiting to book my flights and hotel until class list is out. I'm closing the shop while I am gone and I want to get the most in I can in as short of a time as possible.

Can't wait!!

I've been told by honorable sources that there is no charge to register for and attend the actual trade show.

Will someone who actually knows tell us that, please?

That's correct. Registration for trade show is free. There is a charge for classes taken.

Amy

In the past some of the class's have been offered free of charge, unless you registered and are a no show.
In the past I have also seen a 'package deal' which included fee's for most class's. A great incenative to take as many class's as your time will allow.

The National Conference class schedule is posted on the web site. Near the top of the homepage, click on the rectangle that says "National Conference".

Reminder: The classes you want to attend will be the first ones to fill up. Don't wait to register. Do it as soon as possible.

Jim:

I am surprised your first class is on Sunday when most people are arriving. And the one after that (on Monday) is offered only in combination with the first one!

We've tried that lecture/workshop combo both early and late in the schedule. Early is better, and it's been like that for a couple of years now. Turns out the folks who want that lecture/workshop prefer to get a jump on the schedule. I guess they are the die-hards who want to take all the classes they can schedule.

The "Complete Guide to Shadowboxes and Framing Objects" consists of that Sunday morning PowerPoint lecture (F116L) about enclosure designs, and a workshop (F116W1 and F116W2) about mounting objects.

The lecture is usually is a big group (Last year over 100). To keep the workshop small and intimate for the hands-on mounting, we limit attendance to 35 per session and offer it twice -- Sunday afternoon and Monday. Both workshop sessions are the same. But if you want the mounting workshop, ya gotta do the lecture first, otherwise a lot of it wouldn't make sense.

Looks like I will spend a late one on the computer. I am so excited about going this year, DeAnne will be traveling with me and promises to take a few class's also...

Hi Jim, I made it in! The wedding has winded down and I'm in the business center of the hotel. Glad I checked, I'm signed up for both of your Sunday classes and glad I didn't wait until I get home on Monday....might've missed it!

I'm so glad I did a "practice run" on last year's schedule, made doing this one easy!

I'm sooo excited!!!

Hey Val, I hope to see you in that class. I signed up the first day the schedule was available. I am sooo excited to be going this year, it will be my first time. I signed up for a lot of classes and hope to see everyone at the Grumble dinner.
