I've heard that WCAF 2010 will be at Mandalay Bay, which is a huge upgrade from the Hilton. The WCAF website still doesn't have info on this. Has anyone confirmed that framers should meet at Mandalay Bay next January?

Star Trek already left the building. It moved to downtown Vegas somewhere. Now that area is....... "Space Bar"

Wait a sec.....................................did someone say BEACH????
What? Where? When? LOL Sounds like a good time!! :D

Sorry Nicole, the WCAF is in January. While Vegas is warmer then were we are, it is still way to cool to swim or lay out on the beach.

Speak for yourself Dave, I found the water to be a wonderful way to start the day. . . and being able to pick Rob Markoff's brain uninterrupted for a couple of hours made a great extra.

Jeez Rob, now what do we do for a steam and soak?

I've been to a convention at MB before... it's pretty great. The Hilton wasn't bad though. At least at MB it's very easy to get a dirt cheap room at Excalibur or Luxor and take the free tram over. The Hilton buffet is >>>>>>> the MB buffet.

Baer-

Barbara and I may still stay at tht Hilton- there are just too many benefits to give up.

Anyone confirmed that the show is really moving?

I've been trying to find out if it is true myself since I have already paid a deposit for my booth for next year. I would have thought they would have said something to me, but the only thing I was told is that they were making some changes in the floor design. Now....if the new floor design is in another hotel....that would be a bit of a oversite on their part for not saying so up front. I doubt that it will make much difference in the show itself, but it would be nice to know before the rummor is no longer a rummor and becomes a reality. No matter where it is held, it is still one of the best shows for everyone, shops and vendors alike, and we all need to support it.

Hilton WCAF

I just sent in our deposit on space for the 2010 WCAF at the HILTON.

Peter

My guess is that they are considering the MB for 2011. I think Peter is right, they also took my deposit for a booth at the Hilton WCAF 2010. Other than saying that the floor plan may change, nothing was said about a move out of the Hilton for the coming show.

I did email PFM. No response (yet).

I believe 2010 is the last year at the Hilton, which they have pretty much outgrown.

Mike

For what it's worth, IMHO......

Keep it at Hilton!!

But IF it IS changed, I want the same covenience of having only 1/4 mile to walk from trade show to my room since my arms are usually loaded!! That would make a HUGE decision on whether I'd attend or not. CONVENIENCE, SIMPLICITY & ECONOMICALLY SUITABLE!

Hilton meets all of my needs.......how 'bout yours?

Just received an e-mail from a trusted source at PFM.

The 2010 WCAF show will be at the HILTON.

Be careful to include Watergate in that search or else you will get something entirely different.

Just a rummor.

I was called this morning by someone who works directly with the contracts for the WCAF show and was told that the show is at the Hilton and will stay that way. That they would not have moved it without letting the exibitors know well in advance. The person who called was surprised that such a rummor was started. For what it's worth, as an exibitor, I'm very glad that the show is staying at the Hilton. It makes my life much easier as I'm sure it does for most of the exibitors who show there....see you at the Hilton in Jan.

That's not WCAF though, but a different show. WCAF is usually the last week of January, and is the industry's most active dedicated trade show. This is where you'll find the most framing vendors, education, etc. The PMA/PPFA and DECOR shows also have educational programs.

WCAF is just around the corner. It's amazing how fast the year has gone by!

Looking forward to it
Mike

I was assured a couple of months ago that the show would be at the Hilton and was told that the booth assignments were being made at the time. You can call 800-969-7176 to inquirer about a booth. They should be able to send you to the right person to sign up. As far as I know nothing has changed, but it is getting a bit late to be putting out information on the show.

Latest PFM magazine has an insert for WCAF 2010. It shows the Hilton as the place to be held.

And there is a whole page / list of exhibitors with all the big names already listed (including Pat's Attach-EZ....:))
