I have noticed that the shopping plaza we are in has no place to get a watch battery replaced. I think that somewhere in the last few months I heard or read or saw a framer that does this in the frame shop. Anyone out there doing this? How is it working out?

Thanks
Karl.

I've seen a young woman stab herself pretty seriously trying to replace a watch band for me. Another trashed my digital watch trying to replace the battery.

I suspect neither is as easy as it sems like it should be.

Nearly every jewelry store also gives a lifetime replacement when you have it replaced just to get folks popping in periodically.

I think the time spent on replacing a battery and the risk you're taking damaging the watch is not worth it.
I usually go to the jewelry store to replace battery. Better even, I have a watch that doesn't run on those kind of batteries (citizen watch) but recharges itself with daylight. Never have replaced a battery and works fine.
(and no, am not a citizen dealer!!!)

Heh. There's three framers (including me) and two jewelers within a two-block stretch in my downtown... what would happen if we all went into watch batteries? :)

Jim, You're in Napa too? I'm also within spitting distance of most of my competition. Very odd, but it works out.

I get really cheap watches and when they quit I toss them and get another cheapie
