In trying to implement Bob Carter's message of selling to more than just the higher end customer, I have been looking for good inexpensive moulding lines to pick up. We have used Proframe in the past and have had good experience with their quality, but the line is limited in it's offerings. I wonder if any of you have used Wall Mouldings out of Texas (we would be using wood substrate only). If so, what's your take on them? If not, who do you go to for the inexpensive yet decent quality mouldings in quantity (from 50' up to box quantity)?

I know a couple of gallery owners in my area that use them. They seem to have a decent variety. And from what I've seen, the quality is pretty good also. Of course, since I haven't actually used them myself, I'm hoping those who have will chime in.

I'd call and ask the gallery owners I know to give me more specific feedback, but they've been getting on my nerves lately. Must be the holiday jitters.

We are pleased with Wall's mouldings. Their finishes seem to have a bit more of a high end look than others of that ilk. The line changes fairly regularly, so you might not be able to buy the same profiles forever.

Have been using wall moulding as my main moulding line for quite sometime. Their quaility is very good, and the prices in quantity are excellent. I have not used their chop service, so cannot comment on that. Delivery is quick and service has been excellent.

Recently made my first purchase from Wall Moulding. Overall was very pleased with the transaction. Dealt with Wendy at Wall. Very nice to work with and helpful.

Only drawback, order took two weeks from Texas to Wisconsin for a chop order. I normally get my frames from Evald Moulding out of Watertown, Wisconsin. I can order a joined frame on monday, it will be at my door on wednesday. Order a chop before 3:00 I have it the next day. Also very good company to work with.

I think they'll send you a short piece of every molding they carry for free. You have to pay for true samples though. (No, I didn't mean to get that debate going again).

Wall is a great Company, I picked up about 30 corners from them @ last years Decor Show. I exclusively use their chop service. Cust Service is great, Turn around time leaves a bit to be desired; about 1 1/2 week from TX to PA. I know you said you'd be suing only wood mouldings from them, but i would like to take a second to advocate for their "Near Wood" Polystyrene. It is the Highest Quality I have seen, and I will second jframe in the look of the moulding, It has a High end look, without a High end Pricepoint.

great products

I just ordered six boxes of closeout mouldings and they look awesome!

Deffinetely recommended!

Some of their 5" wide mouldings were around $2 a foot and my local Atlantic coast supplier probably would of charged me close to $7 a foot for similar mouldings.

Peace, Rolland

I don't want to say I told ya so but ...............

Wow, who'da thunk it???

I've carried them for a couple of years.Wall is a very good company with honest hard working people and a good line of mouldings.

I only wish they would stop shipping their mouldings packed in styro peanuts (it's difficult to dispose of)

Recycle them ..............

We ship quite a volume of framed art out of the area and use a mountain of peanuts to pack canvases both framed and unframed. They don't damage the painted surface and they are very light to use in a large box for framed art. I have presently a Crescent matboard bag full of peanuts collected from boxes shipped to me from Wall and another company that we deal with.

I always collect the peanuts and save them for repacking things for shipment. If you have to buy those peanuts from a distributor you know how expensive they are so recycling makes perfect sense to me.

Regarding disposal of them if need be, place them in Crescent bags and tie them shut first if you are having a problem with them getting all over your shop or, after removing the mouldings, tape the boxes shut in a few places and throw away. It seems like a very simple solution to a very minor problem in my opinion.

wall moulding.....length orders

I use them for purchasing my length moulding, and purchase by the box.
Their near wood polystyrene is great, some are coming in with a black core, and no need for coloring edges. Texas to Alabama in 2 days for box moulding on the average. Great folks and they have wonderful show special. Give'm a try.......

Actually, you only pay for the shipping.. - (No Debate though)
