Many years ago (18+?) I designed and built a sliding panel cabinet for my wall moldings. I now find that the velcro on the back of my moldings do not stick to the fabric as snuggly as when I first built the units.

I believe that I purchased the fabric from a supplier in the LA area but I have no records that go that far back. Especially since I have moved twice since then...

Does anybody know where I can get any kind of nice looking fabric that I can use to replace my aging displays with?

Searh the archives for fabric backing for frame samples and you should find the name of every supplier in the country.

lasttime I did sample walls I went to HD and got 8 X 4x8 sized cheapest brown/red-ish(got tired of black/grey) carpet(after testing the grab of it's weave) that did NOT have rubber/foam backing...used carpet glue to stick(which really only lasted 2 years before drying out and needing LOTS of staples to keep things 'up'. but that stuff was cheap enough that you could redo the boards every 4-5 years and not suffer toooo much anguish(other than the work it'd take to redo).
I'm wondering if the 'new' heavy duty velcro, with it's shorter hooks' will be less likely to pull up the surface on the coverings, thus extending the time frame where we wouldnt need to replace the covernings because of that 'fuzzing' where the strips are??????
 
I've used what is known as velcro fabric from Franks Fabrics in LA . We had some on our sliding panels for 20 years + and it still looked like new even where the corners hung. Call Frank at 1-888-332-2749 Pacific time weekdays
