Sound familiar? I'm sure that your local magazine or newspaper does this. Do you ask your customers to vote for you? Does it have any merit? Personally I think it's a ploy to get advertisers in the challenging advertising industry. If you were voted tops in your industry has it helped you? Any thoughts?

Yes, it has helped my business.

Yes, it is a ploy, but it still helps.

Not all businesses benefit, but it certainly has helped me.

Usually, a potential customer asks a friend fro a referral, but when they don't know anyone, the "Best of ..." can be the deciding factor.
 
I have been voted best 5 years in a row. Sometimes I mention it to customers to vote once I know I have been nominated (no idea who has nominated me....probably one of my customers)

It's the only time I run an ad in the local paper with an offer.

Had a customer come in the first day the paper came out; she didn't realize I had moved 2 years ago - she thought I was out of business! She brought 3 things to frame.
