Does anyone have a Mitre-Mite VN2 owner's manual that I might get a copy of, or know where I can get one? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Here's an excerpt from the manual:

st9&83ndck the faorenw in the vnasmqo. Joinfcwreq thenw frmaecaS

In other words, the manual is not too useful. We learn by doing.

Do you have a problem with yours? There are lots of experts here and the advice is free.

I may have one but it contains nothing that would assist you in any way for just about anything.

I think it is about 6 pages and basicly says good luck figuring out how to use it. What are your issues.

Welcome to the Grumble.

hahahahahaha

Wow! Sounds like it's not even written in Italian. I work at a print shop and we just bought one to use for assembling stretcher frames for our artist customers so we can stretch their canvas prints. We basically just want to know how to use it safely and properly, how to load the V-nails, etc., and what to watch out for. Any tips on using this old machine would be greatly appreciated..

Thanks for your prompt replies,

Don

Where are you located?

We are in Valdosta, Georgia, about 15 miles north of the Florida border on I-75.

have you used it yet? Is it capable of operating now? Have you got a supply of v-nails? If so, I can call you tomorrow and guide you thru the basics. I've got a VN4, but they are similar.

I just had to order a part for my VN 2+1 and if you go to www.itwamp.com
click on order parts and you can download the manual for your machine.
Hope this helps.
If you are having a problem (Call 800 number on home page) they were terrific with me and had an answer to my problem in seconds.

Just bought a VN 42. The manual was written in Italian and translated to English by a Portugese shoe salesman.

It is truly useless. If you're having trouble connection air lines the secret is to photo copy the schematic 11 times and on each sheet highlight just one line from it's source to the termination (Impacter, trigger, regulator, etc.) If still stuck do the following:

Call the customer service tech line and ask for 'Phil'. He's a nice gent and will answer any question you have.

You'll really like the machine...

I tried that site, but they don't show a manual for the old VN2. Thanks, Candi. I guess I can call them and see what they can offer in the way of help. Once again, I really appreciate the fine advice from everyone.

Phil is a jewel................

If you run into problems, I concur that Phil is very nice, extremely knowledgeable and can field any question I have ever had.

We have the programmable model and he successfully walked me through a fix a couple of weeks ago that didn't include any new parts. We thought for sure we had something broken or out of shape. Use him as a reference and for operating help.

Thanks, Rob, et al. It's great to have good advice. Phil sounds like the guy I need to talk to. We are hoping to get the chopper and V-nailer set up in the next week or two. I worked in a frame shop years ago, and then spent 30+ years framing my own artwork, so I have a bit of experience with these things. In fact, my boss is buying my old Morso chopper from me. A win/win there -- I get it out of my bedroom (the only place in my little house where I could handle long moulding) and I get the use of it for the rest of my life whether I work there or not.
