Hurray, we finally set up Frame Vue software. It is fantastic. We also set up a dual monitor system. It takes so little time to capture designs, I think that we will use it frequently.

Congrats! We added visualiztion here in March 2005 (wow time flies!) and love it. We don't use it for every design, but more than half. When the sale is getting slow and they can't decide, that's sure to close the sale quickly. Seeing is believing :)

If you have the POS product also, they integrate and it'll attach the image to the workorder. If so, I suggest taking a look at workorder style #5, which will put the photo on your production workorders.

If you don't already have it, I suggest getting a power supply for the camera. This way, you don't have to change batteries in the camera and can leave it on 24/7. (no reaching up to the ceiling to turn it off and on)

PS: The part # for the power pack, and the steps to activate workorder #5 can be found in the tips thread.

Mike, I do have a power supply hooked up to the camera. The ceiling is 12 feet high, so reaching the camera is not easy. I will look into using WO #5.

To give that a try:

From the main menu:
-Click CONFIGURE
-Click PRINTING (tab)
-Select "Use WorkOrder Form Option #5"
-Click SAVE

Then you can call up an old invoice, and RE-PRINT to see how the two workorder styles compare. Make sure it is one where you used FV, so it has the image attached.

I recently added the power supply, but I still have to reach up and turn on the camera. Camera is Canon SX110 IS. When I exit the visualization software (IF Visualization), the lens retracts and the camera is turned off. If I start another session soon, it works fine. However, the camera seems to time out and turn off after a while, which means I need to reach up and manually turn it on again.

Any experience/advice here?

Ernesto

I don't personally have an SX110 IS to know for sure, but many Canon's have a setting that can be disabled for "Auto Shutdoff". This would be right in the camera's menu.

While in there, make sure "Auto Rotation" is turned off, if you find a setting of that name.
