Steve Rowe, known on YouTube as "Extreme Woodworker", is a highly skilled woodworker working in Arkansas.

Last week he posted a new video on his channel giving an introduction to the Hoffmann Dovetail Joining System since many of his 10k+ subscribers don't attend the major woodworking shows.
The video might be of interest to custom framers who already own a Hoffmann machine or who are considering buying one this year; it’s interesting to hear a woodworker's point of view. And have a look at his other videos as well, especially the one where he builds a tool tote with and for his grandson. Talk about being a kind and patient teacher!

I watched most of this. Very good introduction to the relatively new MU3* series. However, he lacks the jovial personality of the Big German - the presentation is more matter-of-fact and you could fall asleep if it were not for the occasional machine noises.

But it amazes me that amount of time the guy spent making the video. What does he get out of it? As far as I can tell, he doesn't sell anything.

If you're thinking about getting a Hoffmann (and you should be, if you don't have one) this is a good video to watch, in addition to the many on the Hoffmann website at Helpful Hoffmann videos for the picture framer https://hoffmann-usa.com/picture-framing/helpful-videos-for-the-picture-framer/

David, if you start the video you will see a little bar superimposed on the lower left that indicates that the video has a sponsor that is paying for it. That may well be what the creator of the videos is getting out of it. There is also a potential for product placement advertising that could be rewarded with free or reduced prices for those products.

It looks like our sponsor, Hoffmann, is having a really good sale right now. We have one of the MU3-PD machines in our frame shop, and love it!

These don't often go on sale.

I had forgotten about this video.
I took advantage of the Hoffmann sale from last year and upgraded to an MU3-D. This is my third Hoffmann in about 20 years. The older machines are still in use in other shops.
I learned about the Hoffmann dovetailers here on the G from JRB (John Baker), who was an early advocate of the technology.
Excellent tools, and pretty much a game changer for joining stem moldings.
