I know, I know. Everyone has those slow weeks, but I really wished it was a bit busier!
Not complaining, I had a great September month, but it seems that at the end of each month things slow down a bit.

Also seems that Tuesday is my ultimate slow day. Everyone probably has 'no-customer' days. Mine seem to be on Tuesdays mostly.

we have had 52 slow weeks this year, but we are still here and running very lean so profits are actually up slightly from last year....I do see signs of business getting slowly better each month, and of course our busy season is coming up with the snowbirds returning next few months.

Sorry... I've done all of their framing while they were up here!!

The slow week has given me time to call my insurance company and the police about the bullet someone fired through my front window sometime between Saturday 4pm and today 9:30am.

Ditto,

the last 8 weeks I've been so busy I cant think straight, and now I've gone a full week without a single customer, does not make much sense.

Just the opposite of you Paul, Tuesdays are our busiest day of the week, never known why?

   Rick

Was there damage inside? Did you find the slug?

No interior damage, no bullet (CSI-San Mateo will be filming their pilot episode in my store). It was probably a BB, and apparently there was another incident at a shop about 1 1/2 blocks away, as well as an incident downtown.

I had this window decal -- Best of Citysearch -- which basically looks like a bullseye with a big yellow arrow pointing to the center, and that's where the bullet hole is. I have to give them credit, their aim was pretty good, an inch off dead center. Rumor has it Jerry Ervin was in the neighborhood, testing out his new toy!

Twice as expensive as you at 50% off and now this! You've gone too far, craft stores!!!

All righty, it seems that the window isn't even legal! Apparently, the law requires that the window be safety glass -- either tempered or laminated. This was neither.

Currently, my 3 windows are tinted grey. It's slightly less expensive to replace this one with clear glass. I'm leaning towards doing so to improve visibility to passersby. Does anything think it'll be hinky to have one clear window and 2 tinted? The two tinted are on the right side of the entry, and this would be on the left side.

Hmnnn..... I take it your insurance is picking this up, maybe the juvenile delinquents will be back to take care of the other windows..nudge nudge wink wink...

$250 sounds very inexpensive to replace a window. I'm guessing it's not a thermal double-pane job.
:kaffeetrinker_2: Rick

Rick, this is California! We don't need thermal double-pane. It's for 1/4-inch thick tempered glass, and I was really surprised by how inexpensive the window will be. The guy did mention, however, that business was slow.

So, they hire kids to ride around with BB guns... :icon20:

And if they shoot through open windows at glazed framed objects.....guess what happens.....:p

Actually there was a true story a couple of years ago about a business that had a couple people go shooting BBs at shops' windows at night, and they got to replace the glass....till they got caught.

Kind of like the tire shop spilling nails on the road nearby, eh?
