Hi All,

Has anyone ever seen a vertically mounted morso chopper? I am looking at buying one from this guy that is selling one. I have never seen one before. It looks like it is fitted with a special attachment allowing for the fence and guillotine to be mounted vertically. Looks like it works fine, but it is so alien to me that I want to put it back to a horizontal, or normal position, only I'm not 100% sure it can be done. Does anyone know if this is a factory set up as the guy claims or if it is something someone came up with on their own? Thanks.

Prints Plus used to use these I beleive.

Looking at the pictures of the vertical mounted system I see an issue for me. I stomp on my chopper with my right foot. That one looks to be a lefty foot operated machine. The "bite controller" instead of going in and out looks like it has to be lifted up and in. Looks awkward to use, for me.

I'd go with a "standard issue" chopper if you can find one. But if this is less than $800, $600, $350. I'd consider it. More serious consideration as the price drops naturally!

yea how do you cut a 10' stick of moulding with a 8' ceiling?

Would be a major PITA with wide or heavy or long moulding. Wonder what changing the blades is like. What about parts? There must be some custom parts in there, what happens when one of those breaks? There might be a whole new and unfamiliar safety issue if the top piece of moulding starts to fall and somebody grabs for it on impulse.

Does seem to save some floor space, but regular choppers can be arranged so the sticks extend under tables, through doors, out windows, behind cabinets, etc. and you don't have to precut long sticks with a horizontal arrangement. For a while I used a chopper where the garage door had to be open, and the sticks extended out the garage door and into the open tailgate of my pickup.

wall mounted morso

Those Morsos are mostly left over from when prints plus went bankrupt. The hung them on the wall to save space in their mall locations. Dont buy one if you dont know what your getting into. It would not be worth trying to fit one back to normal.
A couple of problems.
1. The foot pedal is cut in half, and no way to get 1/2 a ft. pedal.
2. I am pretty sure the rabbet supports are no longer on those machines, and they are expensive to buy
3. Normal ones are pretty cheap now.
If I havnt talked you out of buying one, email me, I will give you a great deal on the one I have sitting in my barn!
