I frame a lot of antique prints and photos. My customers want to use the antique wavy glass that is original to the print or photo. Have any of ya'll ever used the UV film, made for windows, on picture glass?

Melinda, I've had minimal success with the UV window film even when used in windows.

It would certainly not be invisible. The higher the UV filtering factor, the darker the tint.

I have spent many a pleasant hour arguing with customers who want to leave the wood shingle backing board in place, the old corroded wire and the giant screw eyes and still have their heirloom protected.

Good luck. If you absolutely must do this, maybe a UV Acrylic, such as Cyro's OP-3 Acrylite, behind the wavy glass? There probably won't be room, though, since these old frames usually have about 1/8" of rabbet depth.

I just had a customer if I could get her NEW wavy glass just like the old stuff. Any idea where I can get this? Any draw backs?
