Has anybody else ever used your Wizard to layout the artwork for your walls?

I'm new to the framing business and was trying to find a short cut to help me arrange the artwork in an eye pleasing arrangement that would actually fit. This is what I came up with:

I simply use a scale of 1" = 1' and put in the dimensions of the wall. Reserved areas were used anyplace where pictures would not fit. Then I add additional mat openings and label them with the title of the artwork.

It's worked well for me so far. I feel like I have had a useful original idea (first in a while) that others maybe able to use.

Good Luck!

use graph paper to scale for each wall then cut out smaller sizes for the actual pictures. You can hang and rehang many times with tape and easily reusable.

I guess I am from the old school. I just hang the art, largest images first and fill in with the small stuff.

As something is sold an new piece is placed in the vacant space. Every 6-12 months everything is taken down and the entire wall is rehung.

Danimal-
Love the idea! What a wonderful "gift" that could be handed a customer who is framing a collection of items. They often ask me to draw a layout, and the Eclipse layout would be much easier--and more impressive.
Thanks!

I actually used my eclipse to lay out my framing areas, tables, mat cutter, drymount, mat storage, moulding storage etc. Worked great, didn't have to move things 10 times.

Once again, I love this wacky forum! Danimal you posted this at just the perfect time for me. Many thanks.

dougj - you, too! Thanks. I was using a room planner at the Better Homes and Gardens site, and well, it wasn't quite working exactly, having to remember that the pool table is the press, and the entertainment center is the joining table, and so forth.

Glad to help Meghan. I'm glad somebody is getting some mileage out of my newbie idea.
