My son-in-law is the IT guy for an affluent school district here. They just replaced about 400 computers with new ones.

Long story / short, he purchased about 100 of these units, and has went thru them all and reset them back to original.

He has them priced at only $100. each and they include the following:

  • Pentium 4 2.8Ghz
  • 256 MB Ram (upgradeable 512 - $12.00 /and higher)
  • 40 GB Hard Drive
  • Ethernet / Audio
  • Windows XP Pro L/COA
  • 17" CRT Monitor
  • Keyboard & Mouse
He can ship, although that might not make the pricing such a great deal. These are really great for Homework Assignments and such.

If in the Toledo, Ohio area and you would like to stop by and pick one up, let me know. Just click on my user name to the left and you can pm, me.

Better than what I'm using in the shop which is a Pentium 4 1.8!

If he wants to just ship the cpu's to Maine I'll take 2. Only leaves 98 to go.

Latest info on these HP Computers

They have 256 Ram

You can do an upgrade to:
  • 512 Ram for $15.00
  • 768 Ram for $30.00
  • 1Gig Ram for $50.00
You can either order that online and do-it-yourself when you get around to it, or if you include the extra amount, he will order and install it for you.
About 6 of these have already sold thru private messages, already.

My daughter had said these computers were HP, but as they dropped one off for me today, I see the label says Compaq EVO. I believe they have some of each model.
As you can see, they have a CD drive as well as the older floppy. The drives can be changed so that the unit can be used as a tower also.

They are checking with UPS about packing and shipping charges. Again you are welcome to come and pick one or two up, if in the area

Would he be willing to sell some without monitors?

The reason I ask is, the shipping would be much cheaper. The CRT is the heavy part.

I imagine that he would, but I can't imagine the price being any less, because then he would be stuck with these CRT's that are fast becoming "boat anchors" or "aquariums".

Now that I think about it, he said the price was $100 for the computer, and the keyboard/mouse/monitor he would throw in for Free. So if you don't want the free stuff he can just ship you the computer. :icon21:

But indeed the shipping would be more practical.

JPaul do they have usb ports?

JPaul do they have usb ports?

Jim, I've got one one display in my store and I will take a look tomorrow and post the answer here.

Found about about packing and shipping
Anywhere in the lower 48:

The complete system would be $80.00
If you want the CPU /Keyboard/mouse only S&H would be $40.00

So complete system would be $100. + 80. = $180.00
CPU/Keyboard/mouse would be $100. + 40 = $140.00
Payable by check or via PayPal.

JPaul if we bump the ram up to 1mg do you think it will run the Wizard IF suite?
POS & the Visualizer?

FYI

JPaul just told me all they have left are 2.4 Ghz

Just had a very nice visit with Jim for a few hours this Sunday afternoon. Three less computers after he left and then sold two more this evening. There are now less than 50 if anyone is interested. Have another person that is talking about taking 5 of those.

Jim is right, all of the Pentium 4's 2.8Ghz are gone. The rest are the same specs except they are Pentium 4's 2.4Ghz.

Still have around 40 units left

  • Pentium 4 2.4Ghz
  • 256 MB Ram (upgradeable 512 - $12.00 /and higher*)
  • 40 GB Hard Drive
  • Ethernet / Audio
  • Windows XP Pro L/COA
  • 17" CRT Monitor
  • Keyboard & Mouse
  • 4 USB Ports
  • CD Drive / 3.5 Floppy / Zip
  • Compaq - HP
* Additional RAM is aval. just about anywhere/ just plug it in
1000Ram for around $40-50.

Shipping in the US. is $80.00 if you want the CRT, if not then you only pay $40. shipping.

Just PM me with your contact info and I can make the arrangements for you. Company checks are fine, no credit card sales as these are not being paid for through my store. Checks will be made out to my son-in-law.

mine running smooth..
Got three just ordered 2gig ram
use one for Wizard IF suite 1gig
use one for customers to go on line & find prints if they want 1gig
Take the 256 out of the online computer put it in the third one to make 512 use for misc. book keeping in office.
I also have 5 old zip disks that were just lying around so now I am going to put them to use...

Sweet deal. Too bad I missed out on it. I have two brand new Dells still in the sealed boxes that I ordered back in the beginning of July (before you had to pay extra for XP...). These would have been perfect. Oh well.

One more of these will soon be on it's way to Bob.

Sorry, for any confusion, in an earlier post, I guess I had mentioned payment could be by check or PayPal. I'm not sure if son-in-law is set up to take PayPal on these or not. I am checking with him. Personal or Company checks are fine though.

Still have a few of these left even after 1 goes out to Bob & 1 to Val.

However, sorry to say, SIL has decided not to ship anymore as it is just to much hassle.

But if you are going to be in the area and want to pick some up, let me know.

Thanks all, John
