I have a glass front and back job with a rabbet which holds all but 1/16 of Framespace FS-9(3/8 airspace). I found that if I reverse the framespace in the rabbet (gripping part toward the rear instead of the front) it doesn't flex and gives me the mechanical holding power in the rear--- a huge plus.

I will use 810 on the front open part and the back will be held quite nicely by the mechanical means provided. I can glue the sides and back.

My question is, at last, is there any significant factor I am overlooking causing the whole job to self destruct. Because if there isn't I plan to go forward.

Greg, I know you are out there in the ether. What say you?

FrameTek also makes a double glazing product called FrameSpace 1/4 Double. It holds 2 pieces of SSB glass 1/4 apart - sealing the whole package nicely. I recommend bonding the FrameSpace into the freshly cleaned rabbet with clear acrylic panneling adhesive or the dreaded silicone adhesive. Wipe down the FrameSpace with water/alcohol to get rid of finger oils prior to bonding. Lay a very small bead of the adhesive into the crotch of the rabbet. Let the bond cure over night. Hang on double saw tooth (teeth?) hangers or drill 2 1/8" Dia. holes at 45° - one on either vertical leg of the frame and hang on 2 - 2" long brads nailed into the wall at 45°- Make a foam board nailing template for your customer with the 2 nails the right distance apart and through the foam board at the right angle.
