Being as tech-fail as I am, I'm not so surprisingly having trouble uploading pics on here. I can do the links, but the uploads fail everytime. Would I be correct in guessing that its a resizing issue? and if so, how do I fix that?

Thanks so much for any help!

And BTW, the weather down here is GORGEOUS right now, and I hope all of you reading this are having a beautiful fall day as well!:icon19:

I was about to help you but you pi$$ed me off with the weather forecast....:)

Do you mean inserting an image from the internet? Or something on your PC?

Form the internet: Right click on the picture and select "Copy Image Location" (in FireFox) or something similar in IE. Then in the post: Click on the yellow mountain icon and paste the link there. Done

If the location is your PC: Best solution is to have an free account with phootobucket.com, upload the pictures or videos there and select the bottom link of the uploaded picture, then paste it as is in your post here.

Size DOES matter! :icon21:

In addition to Paul’s suggestions RE: uploading with a “Copy Link Location” and the Pho(o)toBucket account, the size of your image may have a bit to do with it, too.

Most computer screens display at 72 ppi, so for efficiency, it is good practice to re-size your images to that figure. If you try to display, say, a six by four inch image at 288 ppi, the display will automatically display it at 72. This means that the image will fill the screen to 24” by 16”, and annoy the heck out of everybody.

Also, to keep the Grumble server from becoming bloated, try to keep your uploaded images no bigger than eight inches wide at 72 ppi. This is large enough for people to see, but not so big that people have to use the scroll buttons to see the whole thing in sections.

Also, to keep the Grumble server from becoming bloated,

Um, if I steal a photo from another area of the Interwebs or I take one of my own and place it onto my own website or photobucket or whatever, then it would not bloat the Grumbler's server at all because it is not living on the Grumble's server.

Or do I have that wrong? :icon45:
