I am so excited to find so many fellow framers here. We could change ideas and share our experince with each others. This site is just.. "too great"!!! And is good to be one of the GRUMBLER!

But somehow, I think this site shouldnt allow those registered grumblers who doesnt want to give their personal information listed like what business they are doing, where they are located,.....etc......to publish their posting!....Everyone must be sincere if you want to become one of us and share everybody opinions, stories, experinces,....

I think this place is like a home for framers or those realated to framing industry. So, why you are so worry or shy to introduce yourself and let your family members know you!?...PLEASE! dont become another UNKNOWN GRUMBLER!!!

Some people because of the nature of their job are not allowed to post their information. People who work for the Big Boxes for example are kind of restricted in that manner. Also, this is the internet. It is the day in age where people are afforded a little more privacy due to the anonymous nature of the internet.

I for one believe people should not be lambasted if they choose not to share their information. Now if they're starting fires, and instigating things that are not conducive to the online community, then I think they should be banned. But for those who offer constructive information and add to the dialogue, let them remain anonymous if they so choose.

I am now getting down off my :soapbox:

I would prefer to have people’s profiles filled out too.

It’s nice to know to whom you are speaking e.g. employees or owners, how many years they’ve been in business, whether they are store front or residential framers, etc.

But, Dave is right. An employee of a business represents the business but not necessarily in an official capacity when they are online here. His/her opinions may not reflect the corporate or the owner’s views, so I can understand the anonymity.

It used to bother me when all I only knew someone’s screen name. I like to imagine that I know the person better when I can refer to them by first name.

I'd be happy if they at least filled out city and state. I think they sell themselves short when they don't fill out their info. Some people, myself included, tend to gloss over the unknowns. It is a great community, get noticed, fill out your profiles!

By the way, welcome to the G khooengtheng!

Nobody is being forced. Sure, you can make stuff up. Just a basic courtesy to say where you are from. I don't think a city and state is going to give away too much about yourself.

truthful???

your assuming that people are and will be truthful about their information if forced to provive it

yes, I agree with Emibub. At least lets everybody know what are you doing, where are you from, .... are just some very basic information that you may share with others grumblers! But I really mind if you are not being TRUTHFUL and sincere here...
