Anybody else in the North East is getting fed up with Universal Arquati service (or lack thereof?)????

Last Friday we placed an order for a rush job, "Yes it's in stock, will be sent from the NJ warehouse". Great.

Today, Tuesday morning, voice message....well, the "system" made an error, it's out of stock in NJ, will ship from Texas.....ground UPS (or maybe FedEx) of course.

Customer service promises to "expedite" the shipment, which means I will end up paying for the whole shipping charges, just like last time ($65 on a $220 order!!).

I think it's the last straw, no amount of lovely mouldings are worth this trouble......:fire:

I don't need this aggravation on top of a recession. There are enough moulding companies that will gladly pick up the slack.

PS: Prior to the Universal takeover, things were much smoother.....:kaffeetrinker_2:

The screw up continued further...instead of shipping it 2-day air to have it here today (for the rush job tomorrow) it was shipped 3 day- air so.... we'll have it on Monday.....:fire:

So Long Universal Arquati. Maybe we'll revisit giving our business in 3-4 years when service improves. But for now, no thanks.

Hey Paul

Perhaps you'd be better off going through an Arquarti distributor.

I love their mouldings, but I've found (under former ownership) that the quality of the chops weren't up to par (chips, etc). Their distributor (who was out of the moulding I needed) did a much better job. I only carry a couple of their mouldings that aren't available from my distributor.

My distributor, because they keep decent stock levels, is always able to ship me what I need. In case of an outage, they call right away.

RMD is a distributor...perhaps they'll work for you. 800-336-9623

Thanks Janet, but since they have a warehouse in NJ (the one which lately has nothing in stock....) no distributors in this area carry them.

Some acquisitions are not always good....

It is bad enough that we are scrambling for business and bending over backwards for our customers...but when our suppliers can't even come through...

It is hard to take when you jump through ALL the hoops to make sure it is in stock and will be shipped by such-and-such a date...etc., etc....then its..."Oops! We made a mistake... you're SOL"

I just had a similar experience with Omega Moulding...for a 45 piece job!! First didn't ship when they said...then said they didn't have it...then they did...If it wasn't for Ray Miles...I don't know how I would have gotten it.

Still...the job was a week late, not a very good first impression for a new client! :fire:

Paul I was just going to tell you not to pick on Carla....... She's my favorite!!!!!! And by the way just saw Bill (rep) Give him a call........
But when I got to the end of your post and read this

Framing is the most fun you can have with your hands... without going blind!!

OMG LOL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

No wonder your in a bad mood! You have nothing to frame :)

Who is Carla???

I was assured, by the highest echelons of Uni Ar weeks ago that things would improve, but that's not my experience so far and I am out of patience.

A very good customer who I promised a frame by Friday (tomorrow) is leaving for Australia for 3 months without her art because of their screw up. I am not willing to lose customers because of incompetence.

If a company has a system that (allegedly) gives them bad info about their supplies being in stock and they wait 3 days to tell me it's not, then Adios to them.

Other more willing suppliers have more accurate systems and better customer service.
