Anyone having trouble with United’s “Master Touch Wood Daubers”?

The last two orders I received of the stuff were unusable.

The little cardboard cap was dislodged (as per instructions) and the jar was shaken until my arms hurt, but all I could get was a clear, unstained fluid from the pad. I even poked small pin holes into the pad to try to hasten the stain spread.

I finally got so frustrated that I pried off the applicator cap, and tried to stir what I thought was a lump of concentrated stain at the bottom of the jar, but to no avail. I ended up pouring out the fluid and examining this lump in daylight. This lump did not appear to be the kind of “sludge” concentrate one finds at the bottom of a MinWax can, but rather a knot of woven lint (no exaggeration). It had virtually no color.

Anyone else experiencing this problem? Has anyone tried the “Dandy Daubers” that Decor Moulding offers?

The Dandy Dauber is ther one I started with 30 years ago.

Try the Kiwi Brand Scuff Cover. Shoe dept at wally world and in any grocery store. Has the sponge applicator and it won't harm many finishes. It has carnuba wax in it and evaporates away.

Be sure not to use the shoe polish but the Scuff Cover.

It dries/evapotates off of most of the dry powder toners as well. You can use it to tone some mouldings by letting it dry without wiping. Moulding that it sticks to will not get smudged by normal handling. It is a dye base.

amazed no one has suggested calling vendor with complaint, advising they'd best spotcheck their stocks of this manuf./replace yours post haste.............bet they'd like yours back also!

Busy making daubers

I am sorry for the dauber that failed to work. Below you can see me in the act of personally screwing up the dauber manufacturing process. You know I like the Grumble but it should not the first place to go and complain about defective product. Call me, I will make good.
