Choice is good.

Never let it be said that TruVue doesn't listen to their customers. There's been much discussion here on the Grumble about TruVue stickers. Some framers think they are too big, other too small. Some framers think they have too much information, some think they have too little.

Well, you have a choice. When you got to TruVue's Tools of the Trade page, you can order any one (or more) of eight, yes eight, different stickers. Free, as in no cost to you and 100 stickers per order.

AARGGHHHH! Too many choice!! Okok, I got it figured out. Thank you TueVue & FramerDave!

COOL!! Ordered my gloves too!!
To bad they dont come in HOT PINK!!! :D :D <I'm kidding....... although I would rock those..>

Very good idea.

I'm glad they realized that spending $1,000 on an endless supply of various stickers was a good investment.

These choices make a lot of sense.

Thank you, thank you. I ordered today, as well, stickers, gloves, and customer pamphlets.

Update: Presumptive GOP candidate Mitt Romney issued a statement accusing the president of "exploiting the label crisis for political gain."

Dear TruVue:

I really like your new stickers, really I do.

Just one thing, though - why do you treat Conservation Clear as the red-headed stepchild? Why not a classy sticker for it? It provides the same degree of protection as Museum Glass and I sell a LOT of it. Really I do.

Thank you,

Very Old Framer

Just got my stickers and gloves!!!

I just love these gloves.. I'm soo happy right now! :D
I might just wear them all day.

Thanks tru vue.... I love the ablilty to get whatever stickers I want!
Thanks for listening to all us CRAZY opinionated framers!!
(MAKE HOT PINK ONES NEXT TIME) :D :D

Gloves do double duty

We use the Tru Vue gloves whenever we cut, clean, or otherwise handle glass. They get dirty, but we can take them home and wash them several times before they develop holes. Of course, we noticed a long time ago that they fit either hand, so when only one of a pair wears out, we discard it and keep using the other.

Over the years we have accumulated a bunch of almost-worn-out gloves with small holes - not the first choice when reaching for gloves, but suitable in a pinch. During our move of the shop we used those worn gloves to protect our hands from dirt of all sorts, splinters, cuts and abrasions.

Our package came the other day too. Thanks TueVue! The gloves not only fit either hand but you can turn them over too!

Thanks -- I just ordered the new stickers and some gloves --- the stickers look great and it is nice to know we can get extra ones! Now to see how long they take to get to Canada

yeah, now they can get rid of the red, defects and fragile coating.

They could also pack the sheets so the uncoated side faces out and print the "This side faces artwork score opposite side" on the top, or better still, change it to "Score this side, opposite side faces artwork"

We don't get any choice of label in UK, we have to take what comes - and there's only 12 labels per box of 4 sheets; we also get just two choices of sheet size - 48x36 or 60x40. I liked the last labels, which gave cleaning instructions and then a list of glass types beneath with tick boxes to identify which you'd used. I don't like the current ones, which congratulates on choosing "the best", if that box is ticked. Conservation Clear is right down the bottom and makes it look like almost the worst choice possible has been made - but it has the same UV protection.

Gloves? Not over here.

Artglass UV don't have no stinkin' label - it speaks for itself!

I complained on another thread that I just got 3 whole boxes of Tru Vue CC and every lite was bad! :fire:
2 - 32X40's and a 26x32.
Every one of the 32x40 lites in 2 boxes had some sort of scuff marks in the coated side. I don't think it was damage, I think it's in the manufacturing. The marks covered 3/4 of the sheet, nothing was useable.
All of the 26x32 lites had black specks and bubbles.
Yes, they replace them and they don't even want the bad stuff back, but are we paying for their problems?
We shouldn't have to be quality control for them.
I used a number of boxes of "cheap" 2mm glass on a job recently and never saw a flaw in the bunch.

I have to say that I very very rarely see scuff marks or flaws on CC, maybe that's because stuff we get in UK, being only available in the two sizes I mentioned, has had less handling.

We use more CC than anything else & a fair amount of museum (over 15%) I don't find an unreasonable amount of flawage but there has been a couple runs of bad boxes over the years. Maybe they think you're a Micheals store neilframer?

Yeah, I don't get it. I have used Tru Vue for ages and it seems to be more of a problem lately. I didn't seem to have these problems before.
Maybe they are sending me the boxes that others have sent back. :icon11:
I have xray eyes and sometimes it's almost a curse but flaws don't get past me, and believe me the flaws in the glass that I got were large and covered 3/4 of the entire lite.

I always say, there isn't a piece of glass, mat board, frame, etc. that I cannot find a flaw in but a lot of that stuff "normal" people would never notice. I have a guy that works for us that used to do quality control in the medical field & he found that no matter how far they refined the specs for what would be considered a "defect" the same number of "defects" would be found. I've had a few boxes of glass that obviously eluded quality control. Not too often though.

if you use darker mats on top, you may not notice the bubbles, but when its a white mat on top... it does kind of become the focus. Even if its small it looks like a spec of dirt you missed.
