I see Tru-Vue has started another rebate deal on their glass. I have'nt seen any checks from the last bunch of rebates I sent in. How about anyone else? ( I emailed them about it but get no response!)

Mailed in Jan 3rd..... not a word back.

How interesting. I haven't received mine either, but I did get a call from Tru-Vue today about the new rebates (man, why didn't I think to ask about the others? Tom, you should have started this thread this morning!)

Oh well, perhaps we all should e-mail them all at once!

Well, all your comments make me feel better....sort of....

Maybe I'll just give them a "friendly" little call tomorrow.... ;)

I spoke with the TV area manager a couple of days ago.

I did get the first rebate I sent in. Right at the beginning. Then I batched them up and sent in some more near Christmas. I haven't got that one yet.

He said that was when EVERYONE started sending them in and because they used a "clearing house" to process the rebates and there is a "significant validation process" that he expected a couple of more weeks before people started recieving them.

As I understand it, they have started the same program this week. I actually held up ordering a box to make sure I'd qualify.

Sent ours in to the exact address and it came back saying no such address...

Sent again see what happens.

I got one check too. When mailing, I would recommend following every instruction to the letter, including in the address "Back by Popular Demand" or whatever else they ask for. Also, spell out or abbreviate exactly as shown. I read long ago that minor discrepancies such as these are often used to disqualify rebate submissions.

It could reduce a lot of stress, and save whats left of your hair (to late for me), to keep a log of who you talked too, what they said they are doing, and the date you visited with them.
I have always felt that a rebate was an admition from the manufacturer that they had charged to much. That by setting up a 'complicated' rebate program, hopefuly some would get too frustrated to do it, or mess up terebly and they could keep it.
I know its there, I know it's ours, and that it is worth the effort (money is money), but this is crazy. In business and life if we realise that we have over charged or short changed a customer we contact them, appoligize, and offer to make it right with them. Should'nt they keep the same standards? Oh well enough of the soap box today. Thanks for listening.

Why not just buy from another manufacturer, and instead of sending in all those time consuming coupons, frame a couple more pics for many more dollars than those rebates you may or may not get.

If it has rebate on it, my view is always the same, not a good deal. Rarely do you get all your money, and the time involved, not to mention the aggrevation, and it's friend frustration, just add to the cost.

Please, you got a deal on glass, then just give me the price, right now, minus the rebate, I'll give you a good order, and then let me get back to work, instead of filling out those ---- forms.

Rebates are not good for the consumer, they always are working against you in that the company is counting on a large number of customers who either forget, or fill out the form wrong, and you guessed it, you're screwed again. You end up paying regular price, but wait, what about all the time and effort you put into sending, and keeping up with 'em. The phone calls, the letters, cost is going up, not down, please just give me the good price now.

I quite doing business with anyone who does rebates many years ago, they are basically dishonest in my way of thinking, and run the cost of purchasing up, not down, but that's just my opinion.

If they want to increase sales, get new folks to try it, then mark it down like we do, give us a good price, and don't make us work for the discount. Finally, I just don't have the time to fill out, and keep up with all those forms.
Its too much to ask from a supplier, and they should be trying to make life simpler, not more complicated for us........but to each his own..
Gotta frame, break is over....

treeves,

You got it right. TV called today to present their program and when they gave me a code to track I told them this was ridiculous and I wasn't interested in participating. Heck, I'd rather be finishing the job on my bench than playing games filling out forms and tracking down invoices, etc. The government gives us enough non-revenue producing homework. I resent that the vendors want to pile more on.

Hello all,

I met with the person who is handling the rebates just yesterday. She is very excited about getting the checks sent out but she is buried with them. Be patient and you will see them soon.

Helleluhah! So did I.....Oh Me of little faith!

Of course now it starts all over again......

It would be so much easier if they would do an "Instant" rebate - ie: the rebate would be deducted directly off the invoice - - -
But, I guess some suppliers like "games"

Mine arrived..........but only 50 % of it, wow, a reduction on a rebate, get ya coming and going don't they. I trust them, they are good for it, just a massive amount of work on my end.
