It's that time of the year...pack up the luggage, head to the airport....

....and wait! I arrived to discover that my flight on Delta doesn't exist anymore  Oh, the joys of travel. So, Delta reroutes me on a United flight an hour later. Making good connections through Chicago.

I guess this is OK, as United put me on Delta flights just two years ago in 2007 - traveling is so much fun! Let's hope the remainder of the journey goes smoothly.

Share your good, bad and ugly as those of you who are journeying onto the WCAF Show begin traveling over the next couple of days. :)

thanks for that reminder! I get in about 1:30pm on Sunday and am staying at Harrah's . Anyone up for dinner?

Could be...what time and where? Could you send an email to ARTFRAME@att.net?

Tomorrow is set up day for the Complete Guide to Shadowboxes and Framing Objects lecture and workshops. Gail and I will be in Ballroom D, probably until about 6 pm if all my boxes of stuff show up on time. If any are lost, we could be there all night. If they arrive early, we could be outta there by 4 pm.

I fly out at noon Saturday, and land at 3pm Vegas time (6 hrs later)

Will not be going to WCAF but did get a brochure for the event today. It offers "Free-Pre-Registration". Go figure. :smileyshot22:

We are flying out early Sunday morning. Bert and Evelyn are picking me up at 5:30 am. We stop in Chicago and then land in Vegas around 1 p.m. Hope I can sleep on the plane. :-)

If it is like last year, the flight was okay; the 1-1/2 hour wait for a taxi at the Las Vegas airport was the bigger delay. The cab line started inside the terminal, went out - around the corner, then back... and forth...and back...and forth.

I just checked my flight information on my airlines web site and they now offer a new feature where you can send your suitcase separately by Fed-X, from your home [or business, or Fed-x location] to your hotel for only $99.00.

This way you avoid the checked bag charge, and you don't have to wait for it at baggage, and you can actually track where your suitcase is. This is really an interesting service the airline is offering.

Now THAT's Brilliant!

Russ, FedUp has done this for years. I've used it a few times when I need to take a larger bag, and taking 3 or more legs (Haven't done that in a while...) in a single direction (flying into very small places... now I just drive).

I'm disappointed that I'm not going to Vegas this year. Last year was quite an adventure. It was 26 hours from when I left home until I walked into the Hilton Hotel. In that time only had a couple of hours sleep, then didn't get more than a couple of hours sleep in the next three nights.
It was worth it though!

I'm at the Hilton now. I saw John Ranes earlier, so he made it through fine, too!

For those here at the show, don't forget to track me down for your grumbler ribbon.

Our plane leaves in 9 hours and just noticed that a pipe sprung a leak... inside our plaster walls somewhere... :(
