Any grumblers out there have a lead for me on new or used track lighting???
Thanks

Google your area for used store fixtures.

With so many stores going out of business the bargains should be better than ever.

I replaced all my old fashion "coffee can" style track lighting for a more up to date look and the cost was a fraction of new.

If you use standard halogen, incandescent lamps, such as the medium-base spots and floods we use in our gallery, here's a tip:

Buy 130 volt lamps instead of the standard 120 volt type. Don't confuse volts with watts...Whatever the bulb type or wattage, 130 volt lamps produce about 10% less lumens per watt, but last about 5 times longer than 120 volt lamps. They might cost 50% more, but in terms of cost per hour of burning, they are an excellent deal.

The only downside is that you'll probably have to buy them from an industrial lighting distributor or online, because retail stores generally do not carry them.

I also have a bunch of 12 volt MR-16 fixtures from a store I closed. Most are black. The whiite ones have yellowed due to heat/age but also still work.

They fit "Halo" type track - single circuit (WAC and many others make comperable track.)

E-mail me at rmarkoff@cts.com if interested.

I also have some brand new white Halo gimbal rings that hold PAR 30 lamps. They are white.

Try Craigslist. You might find something local on there close by. It universal, so you might find your city listed.

Just snagged up 100 of the small white ones from Steve.
Thanks all!
