I use AMPF 9435 and 9437 frames mostly--they are 1/2 inch and 3/4 flat black. Some have gained some scratches and/or dings over the miles. I called AMPF to see if there was touch up paint, to no avail. Any suggestions on what to touch up with, or how to rub out scratches and repair edge dings?
Thanks
Ray

Magic Erasers work well on flat black finishes to take out surface scratches. Use only a little water and rub gently until the mark goes away. If you rub to hard it will create a shiny spot, be careful.

The snag with all smooth finishes is that they are very unforgiving and show up every mark. If I find one on a frame am working on, particularly one of the now popular flat square profiles, I find it quicker to recut than fluff around trying to disguise it. These mouldings are as cheap as chips anyway - under $2metre. If the ones you mention cost less than $5metre I wouldn't bother trying to fix them.

Mostly just toss them in the dumpster and throw a new frame on it. One thing I know for sure is the materials are way less expensive than my time.

But if you really want to fix.....

steel wool and the Magic clean erasers are things we use....you can also try a LITTLE BIT of Softscrub...you'll have to do the whole frame because it will change the sheen but might save you in a pinch. I guess you could also spray paint but I'd make a new frame before I'd bother spray painting cheap black.
