OK, I have my first Jersey to frame coming in (tonight I think). It is a signed Torry Holt, St. Louis Rams jersey in Navy blue and gold (with white stripes on the shoulder). There is also going to be a rookie card in the package. I am anticipating (subject to approval) doing a window mat with a cut out for the card and sewing the Jersey to a foamcore backing covered with fabric set back behind the window. So what colours? If I go with a black fabric the blue in the jersey may look ....not right, it may disappear. Same with white or Gold. Maybe a cream colour?

I am also wondering about the stiffener that I plan to use to help hold the shape. Do most people use a whole shirt size form, or just a shoulders and upper torso shape (say to just below the breast area)?

What are the home and away colours for this team?

Thanks

James

Wouldn't Sweat the Details Yet!

I've done a lot of St. Louis sports figures jerseys. A lot of the color selection(most) of it still depends on the customer. We do end up using a lot of white and off-white suedes for the dark uniforms. I think the contrast works great but other customer want a much more subdued look, we also use a lot of blacks. The Ram's gold is an "old" gold. Here's a link to a dark Torry Hold jersey.

In any event I wouldn't sweat this one, the colors will be easy with the piece in front of you. I don't think I've ever spent more than 5 - 10 minutes on the color selection of a Rams Jersey.

We usually fill the entire length of the jersey in reply to your related question.

Good luck, Mike
