The Web and visualization software

Are other grumblers struggling with the vast opportunities provided with our new equipment? First it is getting the patter down while manipulating new software and hardware.... then the possibilities created with visualization and the web.

Struggling with all this I was excited about sending out images to my customers for final approval. Until today when it dawned on me that these same customers could take my design to the shop down the street. DUH....

We don't give out quotes with details to limit our exposure... but now we are proudly sending out designs using our new technology....

What say grumblers - is this use of technology a good or bad thing?

That's a risk we all have to take. Whether a customer is in front of you and spends 1 hour of your time then wants to "consult with the wife" before proceeding, or they go shopping and comparing at multiple websites.

As with everything in life, even with technology / web, there are good and bad issues. Some could be to our advantage: Superior design, better quality and personalized service with good customer relationship is what will make the good, discerning customer decide in our favor in the end.

And that what you want in a customer after all.
