Okay. I know it is not the best route for a custom frame but that's what the customer wants.

And now I have 2 more customers needing items done that way.

The big question is, out of the 3 styles available thru United, which is most recommended of these for quality, ease of handling and hanging:

1. Swiss clips
2. Uniframes
3. Gallery clips

The prices range from $5 each to $2.70 each.. and all look reasonably similar...

I have used the Uniframe and don't really like it's structural appeal or lack thereof... So I am between the other two....

Thanks,

Roz

PS I have left this go for a bit too long and need to order today!! So thanks for your expeditious responses!

I like swiss clips. I buy them in bulk from UMS. And I like the "bigger" ones better- the four-piece sets as opposed to the two-piece sets.
Good Luck, Roz!

Hi Edie,

Thank you so much for your answer!!

Any tricks I should know!? Like proper hanging advice to the customer!?!

Thanks,

Roz

Hi Roz,
These just hang on regular ole' wall hooks.
There is a trick to stringin' 'em up in back, though. I don't think an instruction page is included in the bulk box. Email me if you would like me to fax you the directions once you get your clips. It does make a difference to do it the way they suggest.

Edie,

Stringing them is a litle difficult!! Gees.. but thanks for your instruction sheet.

I have to say, this may be the last swiss clip question, because it will be the last swiss clip project.

You were all correct about them being a pita and I guarantee that a pita charge will be reflected in all future orders if there are any future orders for them.

I am so frustrated with them... can't wait to finish, deliver and say "no" in the future!!

Frazzled Roz

Hi Roz!
It really isn't that hard, once you get the string pattern down. Really!
I charge for the swiss clips as well as a fitting of $9.20 for a 16 x 20. That means it should take about 9 minutes to assemble it. And after you do a coupla hundred, it'll get easier and faster.
I don't mind them. It's a good way to sweeten a mat and mounting sale and it keeps my customers out of Bed, Bath & Beyond buying crappy ready mades.
Just keep practicing!
Call me if you need more help!
