The last leg of the Amazing Race was filmed right here in Golden.
We were called late in the afternoon on Dec 2,2005 and asked if they could film at our local
history park. Another park in Denver had been
selected but at the last minute couldn't make
it work. So with less then 12 hours notice our little park was prepared for the race.
They were in and out in a flash and off to Red
Rocks.
Last night at the viewing party the most popular comment about the show was how come we didn't notice the cabs? We never have cabs in town.
Our main street is only 4 blocks long.
The crew of the race was very pleasant to work with and made a very nice donation to the Clear Creek History Park.
Glad to get this secret out, it was very hard
fending off the bribes with chocolate.
