My mat book (V-groove designs made easier) is finally on its way thanks to a quickie tutorial in Adobe Illustrator. If I keep my nose to the grindstone, I should have a proof or two ready for Atlanta. Any ideas on who to take it to for publishing?

Congrats Seth. There are not many things more satisfying than seeing a book you've written actually being bought by someone!!!

It's a lot of work, but you might consider self-publishing. (NO, NO, NO, this is not vanity publishing. There's a huge difference!!!) Check out http://www.parapublishing.com and get the book "The Self-Publishing Manual" It will tell you everything you need to know about self-publishing. The main reason to self-publish is so you can control how the book is distributed, and you control when or if it goes out of print. When you have it published, they (the publisher) control all this.

To date I have finished 2 booklets on caning (1 is 48 pages and 1 is 12 pages), and working on 3 more. I have been printing these on my own printer. I have one major supplier carring them in their catalogs, and have sold numerous copies from my own website and catalog. (I have not pursued more suppliers, because there's just so much time I have to devote to printing them.)

This Thursday, I have an appointment with a book printer to begin doing the printing. I don't want to drag this post out any farther, but if you want more info, or to "hash this out farther", e-mail me. I'd be more than happy to tell you what little bit I know.

Betty
