Grumble: thanks for finnaly making me an active member. I was getting paranoid about it.This web site beats anything I have seen yet. Keep up the good work. Oh , love the new spell check. Thanks to chris for pointing me in this direction!

just curious to know how long it took you to become an active member. I am still a pee-on learning member.

It was to do with number of messages left. Please don't leave junk messages to gain status. The learning member was started with the hope that older/active member would cut a little slack for them. That was the idea.

Anyone that puts their two cents in or gets on their soapbox once in a while will become an active member.

silent pic you've left 13 messages only 7 to go.

Or should I lower the requirement to 10 messages.

Lets VOTE, Voting is for one week at this message time.

Ten, is a good number, and I say that because this is my eleventh reply. It really doesn't matter, it's what you say not the initials/name behind it right? "Learning"-, "active",- "old timer"---should have an old timer label, for you old timers! Ha, ha!!
CPF(you know, the one with all those initials behind it), GAF, IRS, CPA, CIA, FBI- Only kidding guys! I really am, I love the Grumblers, fun people, in a great format--I vote 10. Remember Bo Derek? She made me sick. Who in their right body could look like that? Only in my dreams!
Hope this isn't thrown out for my count on being an active member!

I voted 10 but it should also have a completed profile to at least include a location. It really does help sometimes to answer questions if you know where people are from.

There are 855 registered members and 8672 total posts so 10 would seem to be about the average. Kit

Framer,

I think you're original initial idea is still valid..............simply help people identify the experience level of the participants. (Not really making anybody feel more or less important!)

Here's how I vote...............

1-19 postings...........Learning Member

20-50 postings..........Active Member

51-100 postings.........Super Serious Member

101-200 postings........Wow! How do you get your framing done?

201-300 postings........Tell me....How many Cups of Coffee do you drink per day?

300+ postings...........Get-a-Life!

I also vote for ten.

Though, John has it right! We should get a more advanced level for our efforts.

Framer,
You are having way too much fun.

Yours needs to be Uber Member and not Cyber Member.

How about showing the number of posts and make everyone a regular member?

As currently shown.

I like seeing the number of posts that paople have made, but not it looks like some of us have no life.

The only problem is I have never been seen as a "regular" anything...

Susan - Regular is not necessarily synonymous with average and is preferable to 'verbose'. But I agree that it would be fun to have adjectives with a little more pizzazz. How about tyro, medial, and adept? Just a thought from an ex English teacher. Kit

I think 10 would be fine for an active member, but John's system is really more in keeping with what I see to be the true sprit of the board. By the way, for those of you who haven't met him, John is as nice of a guy in person as he is on the board

Are the numbers and dates for real?

Pardon me while I search for a life. . . Maybe I ought to take up fishing or something.

I just love the ability to see where people are from and how many posts they have made. Some people should be encouraged to supply their details as they appear to have come from the 'ether capacious' or some other mysterious place.

I agree with John Ranes that there should be some grading, but will be quite happy the way things are.
