North Texas Chapter of PPFA will sponsor a Conservation Workshop on
Sunday, July 14th, 10AM-4PM with a one hour lunch break.
Cheryl Carraba and Beatrice Dodge will present a workshop on paper and
fabric repair and conservation, along with a slide presentation and
informative hand-outs.

Cheryl, a Professional Associate of AIC and a PPFA member will be
demonstrating repair and conservation techniques on paper. Cheryl is the
Chief Conservator of her own business, located in Austin, Texas since1978.
She and her team of professionals offer conservation treatment services for
flat works on paper to public, private and institutional clients throughout
the United States. She received her primary training at the Camberwell
School of Art in London.

Beatrice, a member of the AIC, as well as the Swedish Assoc. for Textile
Conservators, has a private practice just east of Austin where she consults
and conserves textiles for individuals and museums. She holds a Bachelor of
Arts in Conservation of Textiles from the University of Gothenberg, Sweden
and also studied Chemistry and took graduate courses in Art History at the
U. of Lund, Sweden.

Both women will share some of the very special pieces upon which they have
worked, as well as teach us to identify different kinds of damage to paper
and fabric......this is a CAN'T MISS WORKSHOP. You may bring items about
which you may have questions.

NTPPFA feels so forunate to have these professionals take time out of their
busy schedules to educate us......See you July 14th.....for reservations ,
or more information, call Marianne Pruitt, 972-416-0828

The workshop will be held at Vinyard Frame Design in Dallas, it's practically worth the money just to see this shop which is the envy of our chapter. Also, lunch (Jason's Deli) is included in the fee. Space is limited, call ASAP for reservations. They always fill up.
