We printed a tile mural for a customer. He wants to be able to sell it so has attached to a board with heavy duty velcro. Now he wants a frame that he can easily take off. Since the plywood backing will be used for hanging ,not the frame, we have a skinny but 1 1/2" deep frame picked out. How would you attach it so he can take it off easily and replace the mural with another one.

I'm considering hinges. Or velcro, or foam mounting squares, or command. Anything that requires tools to remove is a no go.

You could probably do something cool with rare earth magnets.

Use a thick plywood (mouting to plywood conversations sold seperately), screw some good sized magnets into it facing out (not forward),
get a frame that can accomodate the depth,
cut it large enough to mount magnets inside facing corresponding magnets that are mounted on the plywood.

Since the frame is going to have to be larger to accomodate the magnets you should sell a fillet or two that will cover the gaps. Might make for an interesting project.

I'll bet the frame would just hang there nicely on the plywood.....

as the plywood is hung to the wall, there frame can just sit there.

If the frame is slighty off the wall you could put some type of bracket at the top and just hang the frame off the top of the plywood. Much like Baer suggests but with a bit of hardware to keep it from falling on some attorney's yuppie larvae.
