Any ideas on how to mount a temple rubbing? It has never been framed, is about 30 years old, paper is slightly fragile, VERY embossed, and somewhat rippled. Would prefer conservation mounting, but would like to get it looking less rippled. Japanese paper hinges with Nori startch?

That gold is done with wax crayon, so don't use heat. If you try a normal mount, you will probably end up with creases, may be the lesser of two evils though, depends on how rippled the rubbing is.

Hinging is the safest way, that's for sure, but may not be the best presentation for your customer.
