Hahaha. I hear your pain. I am busily adding up reams of numbers prior to submitting them to accountant. Yech indeed. Actually, I am procrastinating in every way possible to draw out the process for as long as possible in a painful a manner as possible...human nature is mysterious.

Hey! Who's looking over my shoulder?
Yeah, I'm still dragging through mine. No, really!
Should be done and electronically filed today, though.
Or not. I have until midnight tomorrow, right?
Aaarrrgghhhh!

Did you know God invented slugs after He did His income taxes?

Not to be a contrarian, but today you ought to be about 3 months behind planning for next year

The tax code is so convoluted that anyone going it alone has a tremendous uphill battle

Even much more so than picture framing, this stuff really ought to be left in the hands of the pros

Peronally, I am a "Forbes Flat Tax" fan.

Until then, this stuff is in the hands of the pros. That way we can predict what we wish for the "final outcome" with very few surprises.

My wife loves a "refund", so we plan for enough over-payments so that she gets that feeling of "sticking it to the man". It's just not the same if we put the same amount "aside" an give it to her in April

It's just the system we all put up with

I always felt that National Elections should be held the third Tuesday in April. Think we would ever see an incumbent re-elected until they cleaned up that mess?

What? You a contrarian? Perish the thought I say! (and don't change a thing - we love you and your thought-provoking insight!)

No multi-opening fabric wrapping, no taxes? Where is your sense of adventure?!? (OK, so you save some money on aspirin...)

A few years ago I decided it would be much nicer to get the taxes done in February. It certainly does make spring a beautiful time of the year.

As one ages there are some things I do early so I don't forget them, e.g. taxes, bill paying and reading the grumble.

As a retired CPA - I LOVE this business. April 1st to 15th is no longer dreaded by my family, and Easter can be celebrated without being sooo tired.

It is much more fun to hand a customer a beautiful work of art than a tax return with a balance due.

The Truth! The wife is a professional accountant. She does the taxes for me; however, I have to fess up to everything I bought, the real costs and didn't tell her about all year. It's like confession. That's what's hard...

I don't miss working on tax returns, quarterly tax payments, and all of that other %^@#

I had mine filed by the first week in February, and actually got some money back; it has been in the bank for almost 2 months

I was quite proud of myself this year - no procrastination, bookeeping up-to-date, and taxes filed early!

I like the way you think! ;)

In here today on my day off -in my dungeon of an office when it's sunny outside finishing up. I'm with Jeanne - used to do taxes for a living and hated springtime...then switched to a university job where we had fiscal close on June 30th and came to hate summers. We weren't allowed to take any time off in June-July or August. Gave it all up on April 1st! Next year, when I'm not doing two jobs, I'll have my taxes done the first week in February. Yeah, right....

Trust me Maryann - it can be done!!

I used to hate every quarter. Never could take a whole week off, used to stretch time off out over long weekends. Always had to sell back 2 weeks vacation - it was lousy! The first year I left the corporate world, I took 3 weeks off straight - didn't know what to do with myself until day 4 or 5; had the constant jitters.

Now I hand everything over to the bookeeper every month, then to the CPA, and wait to sign my name.

Sent mine in today certified mail, return receipt requested. IRS didn't have any of MY money for any of the last year. I had theirs as I paid taxes just now. I didn't get a "Refund" of my money they didn't have it - I did !!

I was at a local professional photographers meeting a one of our group's studios. She was giving a program on her specialty, which is photographing dogs, and she had to stop for a minute to go sign her tax return which her accountant had just brought over. Someone told her to make the accountant wait but she said "Not at the rate per hour I'm paying him!"
