substance to dissolve wood glue

I recently joined a frame & then discovered that it was not joined properly. Is there a substance that will dissolve wood glue without damaging my gold frame?

Okay, that was a bit snooty. Seriously tho: let dry and break the join, or just break while wet. breaking without damage takes a little skill, but can be done.

It looks better if you can miter off a bit of face to make a new and clean join surface. Who's gonna notice an 1/8 or 1/16th less?
