Welcome to The Grumble! Decor 8609 or 9820 sounds like it'll fill the bill. Good luck.

Just for your information, 500 feet is not a very large order to have moulding shipped. The freight might be 50% or more of the cost of that order. BTY, where are you located. And do you already have any accounts set up with frame distributors?

HI Jerome,
We are located in Hollywood, FL
I can order 2500 feet if needed as they all will be used. Until now we did not work with any frame distributors as we stretched all of our work using pre made stretcher bars.
Which distributors do you recommend?

Ah - 2,500 ft total is a whole different story as far as freight charge percentage is concerned. A lot less percentage.

Decor strainer bars are as good as any, .... that are made from finger joined wood.

i am not at work today but I have a list of companies in the Southeast that will do large orders like you are talking about for under a buck a foot plus freight for the small size. Somewhat over a buck a foot for the larger size. But those will have to bechopped and joined before use and I don't know if that is an issue for you. They won't be adjustable after the canvas is stretched. I have no problem with that but some framers want to do it the "right" way or no way and I don't know how you view that part of stretching.

BTW, welcome to the Grumble.

I just bought a Prisma Maxi Double Saw and a Cassese underpinner CS299M; therefore, we will chop and join them our selves. For the last five years we stretched the canvas gallary wrapped over stretcher bars which were jointed togehter with staples and they were not adjustable. So far we never had any probelms with that.

Yeah, it works for me too but some will say that it isn't the proper way to do it.

I say whatever works, eh??

Most consumers wouldn't know when a canvas needs adjustment anyway. They probably dispose of them after a few years the way they throw everything else out and buy new. I don't know who came up with the concept of a "disposable society"??

Someone should shoot the critter, though!! :smileyshot22:
