I don't have a lot of experience with Denglas, and now I have a customer that insists on it. I spent about 2 hours trying to clean it this morning... I even called Denglas to ask them what to use, and they mentioned straight rubbing alcohol. I cleaned and cleaned and cleaned and cleaned... you get the idea... and still more streaks!!!! HELP ME!!!!! I have to admit, I did finally get the streaks out, and it is really nice glass, but I must be doing something wrong here. Any advice at all would be great.

Try dish detergent. If the glass was cut with an
oiled cutter, only the surfactant in the detergent
can take care of the oil.

When I get streaks off that stuff its normally because my glass cloth has got a speck of something onto it and it smears the glass.

Never had any bother cleaning it with my normal glass cleaner.

I love Sprayway. Haven't used it in years. The shop I used to work for used the TruVue cleaner (you know, that purple stuff?), and when we opened here, I just bought it out of habit. Just bought a case a week or so ago. The smell takes me back to when I first started framing. Love the smell. I know I am weird.

Mike hates the smell of the stuff. Too bad for him. :D

I use Sprayway on coated glass (AR, Museum, Denglas) and have little sreaking problems. They also make an acrylic cleaner, but I prefer Brillianize for acrylic.

I know what you mean about the smell(odor) of Sprayway. Nothing like the smell of LPG in the morning.

Andy, you are not alone, I too like the smell of Spray Away, just reminds me of framing.........I also love the smell of cut wood. I missed that smell when I got sucked into the Michael's portal, now that I have a saw again, I love that smell.

i used the purple stuff once or twice...it was so nice, the smell that is.
i also like the smell of wood being cut, just not that italian stuff that smells like dead fish.

I use a glass cleaner from Sommer&Maca called Hi-Sheen (they're a supplier for the glass industry) .
The trick I found is CLEAN IT FAST !!! Whip a lightly moistened wiper over the surface and keep moving. I use this stuff daily and have no problem cleaning a lite in under 5 minutes.
I give this advice to my customers as well so they know how to get those purple fingerprints off.

Another big help with cleaning AR glass is those Miracle Cloths. I use them to both clean the glass and handle it afterwards. It will polish out all sorts of marks, even ones I thought were minor scratches.

I also have a small Customer Note that I attach to the back of AR framed stuff that tells the customer how to clean it at home. (soft cloth and rubbing alcohol)

My secret is to use cloth diapers, and use one for wet, then immediately buff with a dry one. When I do that, I never get streaks or scratches in my specialty glass. Also, I use TPI glass cleaner; it's ammonia-free, but I do have to say that I don't like the gardenia smell they put in it
