Strange Glitch

Just had a very odd thing occurring. for no apparent reason whenever I clicked on any file or folder, instead of opening the file/folder I just got the Properties window. And whenever I clicked a link I downloaded the page instead of opening it.

It is OK now after restart. Just wondered if anyone can cast any light?

I had a strange glitch a couple of weeks ago and everything went back to normal by rebooting.

Could it be that these glitches are caused by hackers or something trying to make inroads and they go away when you shut things down?

Because none of these glitches make any sense.

Probably some static electricity or something of that sort, which confused the keyboard or mouse to pc connection.

My mouse, keyboard and modem are all hard wired, no wireless connections.
I don't seem to have many problems (I'm on a Mac). I don't know if wireless might give you more problems due to interference.

I think Mike is on to something. Sounds like your keyboard was behaving as though the Control key was pressed, or something similar to that- some kind of modifier key. Do you have sandwich crumbs down in the keys?
