Got this email this morning:
Hello,

First let me say I love the web-site! My Masters is in Media Design and I have designed several web-site but non as fun as yours. My name is Scott Hull and I am the pottery professor here at Daytona State College. I am trying to find some help with framing and or matting for our student show (April 26th a Tuesday). I am also trying to see if this could be done with promotional recognition. I have no more left in my budget and I have a tremendous amount to display and our normal showing is half this size. If you have any spare or old frames even damaged I would love to give you promotional credit for some help (all sizes wanted larger the better). If this is something you would be interested in please advise.

Obviously having a Masters in Media Design doesn't include a geography component!

LMAO!

Any of you, who are closer than 8000 miles, are welcome to offer help to this guy. He seems to need some help!

Ormond, he is right you have a fun website. He must have actually put a little thought into his letter. Probably never looked at your location. Or just thought that such a fun loving bloke as yourself would be an easy touch.:icon19:

Don't send him my way however.

Is that the same email that has come thru to my junk mail 2 times and finally found its way into my inbox with name and subject as follows like below

I am scared to open email that looks suspect.

With Daytona Beach being close to Melbourne, Florida, I first thought that maybe he found you through Googling and had the wrong Melbourne. But with you being about 1250 km away from your Melbourne, I'll just blame it on... well I don't know what.

I guess from his locational mix-up in addition to his lack of correct spelling, it it a good thing that he is neither a Professor of Geography nor a Professor of English.

Just north of Daytona is Ormond Beach...really.

Yup, I thought of Ormond Beach too. Maybe he was driving while he was googling and not reading carefully...

Aaaaah..maybe that's it. I had forgotten about Ormond Beach......it was named after me you know!

Eh, donate..it can be written off your taxes. Just insist on them picking it up... Saves gas. L

The internet is great, isn't it? I've been advertising a collector car for sale and almost all the replies that I get are scams.
The latest one is from a church in Canada (they love to use the church) that wants to buy my car and they will give me $4000 more than I'm asking and all I have to do is send them back the difference.
Actually I think this is out of somewhere in Africa, like the old Nigerian scams that have been around forever. I have a throwaway email that I use to communicate with these folks and I had them send their phony check to the local FBI office.
