Just finished this fun framing job for one of my favorite customer. This Jackie Robinson signed check needed to have a special frame that showcases the subject but at the same time tells a little of a story about who's check it was.
The "Jackie" & "42" lettering were cut from matboard and applied to the top mat while the "ROBINSON" lettering was cut out of the top mat. This helps to set the letting off and give the overall job a more 3D effect.

Projects like this are why I love my job.

Fab design sense.

I'm jealous.

It was written to cash for $150

Once again, Dave, you have nailed it. Perfect!

You should be teaching a class on sports framing.

Is this on your shop Facebook yet? I want to share it on my shop page to show what other creative framers are doing.

Dave, are you using a Wizard? How small is that Jackie script? Any trouble cutting?

I use a Valiani to cut the design I did in Corel Draw. It cut out clean except for the extreme angle under the "a" in Jackie. I just use a razor blade to extend the cut. No problems with the radius cuts.

And yes, it is on my FrameMakers of Powell facebook page.

Nice, Dave!

I agree... you should teach a class on creative design with sports memorabilia.

Fantastic!

The word "Jackie" & the number "42" were cut out separately and glued onto the mat. "Robinson" was cut into the mat. All were designed in Corel Draw and cut on my Valiani.

Great idea! Nice design with the 3-D effect. This would be great to refer to for future sports art treatment. Thanks for sharing!
