Ok I've been trying to figure out why my W8k can't start exactly at the default 1.5x1.5 rail dodge. Sometimes it starts at 1.75 for the left side and starts at 2 at the bottom cut. Thus if I want to use or set the rail dodge at 3" I think it will start at some arbitrary spot.
Is it suppose to start exactly at the 1.5 x 1.5 or not?
So confusing to try and get exact positioning when you can't figure out where the dang thing sill start out at.
Besides calling in for service has anyone had a problem with the start position? I've powered down and up again many times to reset the defaults but no luck. Same results.:icon45:

Francisco,
I had the same problem when my CMC PC hardrive died and I had to replace it with another PC. I called Wizard support and they waled me through on how to configure the left & bottom starting point.
Here si what I can remember:
1. Edit a new mat with a 2x2 opening and 1.5 borders, single layer mat, regular bevel.
2. Click on the blade tool in the left of the screen to open the Cutting Preview window.
3. Un-check the "Cut the Outside?" check box
4. label your mat top, left, right, and bottom so you know the orientation of the mat when you load it to the CMC.
5. Cut the mat.
6. Remove the mat form the CMC and measure from the left edge of the mat to the left side of the opening. Measure from the back of the mat. Do the same with the bottom.
7. If the measurement is not 1.5 inches, on the right side of the cutting preview window under tools , click on the button that has the + & - sign (forth from the top) to open the Cutting Cnfiguration window. Make adjustments to the Horizontal (left side) and Vertical (bottom side) Home adjustments and click OK button. I was told NOT to click on the "Save Configurations" button.
8. The thing I don't remember, Wizard support should be able to tell you this, the what 0.01 is equivaletnt to to an inch.
9. Repeat the process until you get a 1.5inch measurement on both left and bottom.

If I were you I would call wizard support.

Thanks so much for the info. I used your instructions to the letter and it was easy and perfect.
I used an increment of .0156 (1/64) per input to move it + or - till I got the right number and the right border.

So now I can use my rail dodge and know exactly where its going to cut..thanks again.

Hooray for the guys at Wizard tech!

Tech support from Wizard called and boy was I in for a surprise.
Seems when we went through the calibrations steps my W8k was off a whole tooth on the top gear! How can that happen? Whole tooth.
It had jumped a tooth on the belt somehow and all my mats were coming out slightly off. Hooray for the guys at Wizard tech!

It's all set to go and now I can predict the results of each cut.

I guess it was a little more involved than just a tweek Troy.
Just the same thank you for your input.
