I was looking at your site and was fine until I got to the shipping section and have to question the oversize box charge. $160 to $240 for boxes greater than 48" and $34.5+ for overweight handling. I am interested in your mouldings but need answers on these two charges. What constitutes Overweight; 20 lbs, 200 lbs, 2000 lbs. Not quantified on your site. Many of us order length cut in half which would require a box greater than 48". I just priced a FedEx box 62x7x7 from PA to WA. The oversize charge was $38, not $160. Please explain why it is so high. I use mouldings from several of your manufacturers so a one stop shop would be convenient but not at those shipping surcharges,

Yeah, I like south star, but the shipping eats into the profits too much, and only use it as lower tier alternative and pass the shipping cost on to the customer. Hoping they get creative and can find a way to make it both profitable for them and the framers. Some ideas are a min order for true free/reduced shipping or something. We’re dealing with a 9’ stick with 1 cut, so never going to be under 48”realistically. Don’t have a solution, but repeat, I like the selection, just not the shipping.

Pretty sure the asterisk next to “Free” means free except for the surcharge, which is often more than the shipping charge. Just let free be free…if not truly free, just say so.
