I finally found a cheap(ish) source for nickel plated brass pins! Yay!
A couple of years ago I got super lucky and bought a 5 lb box of them from Europe, but it was a one time deal and I've spend years looking for a replacement source as the bottom of the box grew more and more visible. The only brand I can find in the US is Dritz, and they retail for $5-9 a box with only 200 pins each. I dove down the wholesale rabbithole recently and opened an account with https://www.prymconsumerusa.com/ Prym Consumer USA Inc.. I can buy in bulk and get the same little boxes for like $2 a pop now. I'm sure it's still more than I was paying before, but I can afford to just work in that price into my pin mounting charge and buy enough to not worry about finding enough stock. Many of the craft stores don't even sell the brass kind anymore, and even Dritz' Amazon shop stock is extremely low. Best to go directly to the source, especially if you're a legitimate business, enabling you to make an account and buy wholesale.
Anyways, just thought I'd share in case anyone else does a stupid amount of pinning, like me, and blows through these expensive pins like nothing.
