Sources for free Vector Art

How does one use an EPS, or other vector file in conjunction with a Wizard CMC. Is it simply easier to trace a vector file in Pathtrace, or is there a shortcut to importing a vector file for cutting?

Sorry, didn't see this earlier.

Yes, you can open DXF files in PathTrace. [FONT=&quot]However, since DXFs have not yet been truly standardized in the software industry, there are a large number of varieties. Each program that supports DXFs has their own set of standards and defaults, so you will have to experiment with the different settings and export selections to see what works best for you.

You may still have to connect the objects, but then you can trace them and save them as CutArts.

I have tryed several different settings for export from Illustrator but Pathtrace will not show the file. I am doing it as an export, not a "Save As". Path Trace sees the files, allows me to select it for opening but then it appers that nothing happens.

Does anyone know the settings or what might be going wrong? This is a wonderful new reasorce and I would love to get it to work.

Wouldn't know how to get you the exact file. It is a simple b&w image of wings. I only have Illustrator 9 so I had to open the file in Photoshop first and save it then open in Illustrator and exported it as a DXF file. Brought it to Pathtrace, it sees it and allows me to select it but once I hit Open nothing appers.

Hard to say with this one. The only thing I can offer is try exporting it differently. You can try export, and you can do a "Save as" -- the next screen gives you a series of options to select. I've heard that each version of Illustrator also has it's own idiosyncrasies, but I don't have it to give an opinion either way.

HOLY CARP!!!! I just opened my first .DXF file from Corel into Pathtrace, and tweeked the settings. This is going to save me SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO Much time. Thank you Kra, and Dani for your help.
