I have a couple of customers looking for small quantities of printed notecards from digital photographs in quantities of 200 to 500.

The digital files are quite good and printed out fine at 20 x 24. Does anyone have experience in dealing with a printer? Quality is more important than price. I am a little out of my element here. Thanks in advance.

We do small runs of note cards all the time on our digital printer. Our art department deals with artists from all over the country, and we have the equipment on hand to score and fold the cards.

Pricing: 200 cards, printed on 80# Starbrite Digital Cover, 4 color process on one side, 8.5" x 5.5", trimmed, scored and folded, with envelopes - $147. ($.735 ea.)

500 cards as above - $245. ($.49 ea.) There are no hidden charges or "bait and switch" policies when you deal with us. Sales tax, if applicable, and shipping are the only other charges.

I would be happy to send you some samples if you like. You can visit our website at www.colsonartprinting.com.

I also have used Vista Print, but that was when keeping costs down was the main goal. Their services are very reasonably priced, and turnaround time is not bad either. I used the standard cardstock and paper to keep my costs down, but you can upgrade for an extra fee. The cardstock was a little on the thin side, but again, that was using the cheapest type of stationery.

The other good thing about Vista is that its very simple to use. Simply upload your files, and then review the proof of your printed product it will create for you.

If you are mainly looking for quality, Colson's Art Printing sounds like a great option -- it looks like they have a lot of expertise doing exactly what you are looking for.

Thanks, Luke. We don't compete with the "cheapest you can get" printers because it is all about quality here.

You can upload your files via our website, also. You don't get an immediate "proof" on your screen because we want to look at your file and actually print a proof on the paper we will use, to make sure that the result is what you want. We can print your work on glossy or matte cover stock (your choice) with no extra charge.

I neglected to mention in my post above that if we ship the cards unfolded, but scored for folding, the price is $25 less for either quantity.

Here's an offer for you.. If you or your artist will upload a 300 dpi or greater image to our website, www.colsonartprinting.com, I will personally make sure that you or they will get a printed proof that you or they can hold in their hands, via snail mail, on two different types of cover stock.

I usually recommend the "coated one side" stock, which is glossy on one side but is good for writing notes on the other. The coated side makes for good reproductions.

When the file is uploaded, just say ATTN: Don, and I will get back to you.
